Description

These three reels were composed during and after a wonderful holiday in the Lake District, staying in Ennerdale. Since then they have been played regularly and, as well as being enjoyed as melodies, have proven to be good dance tunes.

This arrangement, the third done for an expanding school folk band, includes two clarinets as well as the standard flute 1, flute 2 / descant recorder, violin, accordion, piano, guitar and cello / bass. The instrumental line-up is interchangeable. The music as presented here would make a good piece for a Ceilidh as well as being suitable for GCSE ensemble performances, ensuring that any rules regarding “doubling of parts” is followed.
