The Holly and the Ivy

Categories: ,

This arrangement uses a traditional folksong tune and provides an interesting alternative to the tune which is invariably sung at Christmas.

The piano part is there for rehearsal purposes only and the final performance should be a cappella.

During the six verses, the melody is passed around the different parts and there is a variety of harmonic language used and, at one or two sections, it might require extra rehearsal to achieve confidence.

The Chorus is written out only once and should be sung after each verse save the very last, where there is a modified version.
