To a Wild Rose – Edward MacDowell

This is an arrangement of a lovely piece by Edward MacDowell (1860 – 1908) from his “Woodland Sketches”. It is an accessible piece for players of Grade 4 / 5 ability and would be eminently suitable as a GCSE Performance submission currently for all the major Examination boards. It requires legato¬†playing, careful phrasing and close attention to dynamics, both in terms of contrast and of shading.

The Bass Clarinet part could be performed on Cello, given the necessary transposition.

The download contains a full score and individual parts as PDFs plus a performance via Sibelius.
