This arrangement of Grieg’s “Sarabande” from his “Holberg Suite” is a gentle piece of music in triple time which will be accessible to most clarinettists. The texture varies from three to five instruments and requires careful grading of dynamics. Edward, or Edvard. Grieg lived from 1843 – 1907 and is probably best remembered for his Piano Concerto in A minor and his Incidental music to “Peer Gynt”, which featured the famous “In the Hall of the Mountain King”.

This arrangement is suitable for concert performance at school or for submission as an Ensemble performance for any of the major GCSE examination boards.
