Description

The obvious play-on-words in the title reflects the location of the last school where I taught and the fact that the aim in writing this piece was to create something in a quasi-Baroque style, using a very loose ritornello form, verging more on the rondo but where the episodes are based on materials from within the main theme.

The music is written for an augmented orchestra but, should some of the instruments be lacking, cues could easily be copied from other parts such that the part is covered but the actual notes as written are not altered.

The basis of the original piece was a typical orchestra of woodwind, brass and strings plus, in our case, alto saxophone and two timpani. The other saxophone parts and the tuba were later additions to cater for differing availabilities of resources.
