Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer

Instrumentation: standard Wind Band

This arrangement of the well-known Christmas carol was one of the first I did on moving to what was to be my final teaching post. As the band grew, so it was necessary to revise the arrangement over the years. Although the 2010 version suited the school until I left, extra parts have been added to bring it into line with other arrangements on this website.

The tune was, apparently, dated erroneously at first publication and this has never been corrected, thus putting it well outside any copyright restrictions even in its original version.

This arrangement omits the less well-known first section referring to the other reindeers.

This fairly straightforward version is suitable for players of above Grade 3 ability, though some parts will need slightly more advanced players and it is ideal for Christmas concerts and for encouraging audience participation.
