Throughout my teaching career, I have staged comic operas by G&S: their appeal is timeless and covers all age-groups. The music is readily accessible and memorable.

Trial by Jury was the first of their collaborations which I staged and one which I repeated later at another school, along with several others.

This arrangement is of two songs from the end of this operetta, lasting about two minutes. It can be used as a concert item or as a short encore.

Although arranged for an expanded orchestra, the instrumentation can be pared down, though, obviously, some of the tonal contrast would be lost. The suggested Tempo is, if anything, on the fast side and could, therefore, be eased.
