Description

These documents are a consideration of Tavener’s setting of text, referring to his use of harmony, metre, rhythm, texture, timbre and tonality as appropriate.

Reference is to his settings of “The Lamb” (1976) and “The Tyger” (1987), poems by William Blake (1757 – 1827).

They are written for those studying the current AQA GCSE Music Specification and for anyone else who wants to learn more about these settings. Obviously, no musical quotations can be used as the music is still under copyright. Therefore, careful reference is made to the text.
